CHRISTIAN UNION
Meeting, praying and sharing together to glorify our Lord Jesus Christ
Dear Students,
You may be one of the few, but you are never alone!
Hammersmith site already have a student Christian Union up and running. Behind the scenes, staff at Acton are working to help make your College student ‘Christian Union’ a reality with both students and staff praying together in the canteen, and in the multi-faith prayer room.
John Ruffle, (who served as Christian Union staff advisor at Ealing Green for 2 years) is studying student timetables to see when good times are to meet on a regular basis. Please contact John with your ideas, concerns and especially, spread the word around.
• We need at least 8 committed students to form a CU committee to get official Student Union recognition. (That means we get a room for meetings and also some funding!)
• Some Christians have asked, ‘Is it Christian or Catholic?’ The answer is, everyone who either loves the Lord Jesus, or who wants to find out more about him and His Word is WELCOME to join in! We have a lot of Catholic and Pentecostal students, and EVERYONE is welcomed and accepted by Christ and each other!
• We already have some awesome ideas for Summer Term, and also for September: we’ll share these ideas when we get together!
• Christian staff and students are praying in the prayer room most lunch times – both Pentecostal and Catholic together! – you are welcome to join us. See Nadine for exact times. (For the present, I suggest you try to pick a time when a member of staff is also praying, as we do not wish to antagonise anyone from another faith.)
• Please consider becoming a member of the Student Christian Union steering committee. This thing will launch just as soon as YOU get active! Think about who else you know might be interested.
• John has got several spare FREE copies (normally £1) of a prayer booklet for LENT. Come up to Room 405 for your copy or see Nadine, your CU steering committee student secretary.
Blessings in Christ,
